Too young for Max, yet
Five siblings had just arrived at the Petsmart adoption center, all under four months old. One is a baby girl in tuxedo fur; the other four wear nearly identical black-and-white coats. Their names are all inspired by Italian pasta.
The lone staff member was busy answering questions from visitors hoping to bring a kitten home for the holidays. With four look-alikes, she kept losing track of who was who. When the crowd left, I stopped to chat. It was only her second day, and she turned out to be a true cat lover with five cats of her own. As we talked, we made simple labels noting the small traits that set each black-and-white sibling apart.
They’re undeniably adorable, but still too young for Max.
